WINE SPECTATOR

Rising to the CHALLENGE

Camigliano is farther south, closer to the southern border of the Montalcino appellation. Sergio Cantini, its winemaker, notes that the gratest challenge in 2017 was finding the perfect degree of ripeness, wothout any overipeness due tto he high temperatures, and the perfect degree of extraction and balance in the wines. "Speaking specifically of Paesaggio Inatteso, the wine derives from a single vineyard, specific terroir , good altitude-and with great freshness of the soil," Cantini says. "A single harvest was made around Sept.20, completely eliminating the imperfect grapes".
