BIBENDA 2024

If the 2017 vintage will be remembered in Montalcino as one of the hottest and driest in recent years, the 2018 is the opposite; humidity and significant rainfall influenced the crucial moments and resulted in a vintage labeled by some as "small". Today, with Brunello di Montalcino 2018 having completed its maturation and refinement journey, many have changed their minds. The Ghezzi family displays two wines of great personality and elegance, not giants of structure and concentration, mind you, but wines that nod to the vintages of a few decades ago, when it was not opulence that characterized Brunellos but the typical aplomb of Sangiovese of the area. The Brunello di Montalcino Gualto Riserva 2017 was not produced but, it goes without saying, the grapes destined for the famous reserve increased the level of the other two Brunellos.
