Certainly already inhabited by the Etruscans, Camigliano became a village of some importance in the early Middle Ages as an outpost of Montalcino. The camel, a corporate symbol found in a 13th century seal, is probably linked to the Camilli guild, founded in the time of Diocletian. Purchased in 1957 by the Ghezzi family, the company was directed towards the production of quality wines. The new vineyards, located on different types of soil, are planted using Sangiovese clones selected by the University of Pisa. The cellar, partially underground, is heated through the use of wood chips. An important restoration of old farms and houses in the village was carried out to welcome visitors.
