BENVENUTO BRUNELLO 2023, THE BOTTLES NOT TO BE MISSED

The more renowned a denomination is, the greater the expectations of wine enthusiasts. Therefore the latest vintage soon to be on the market, the 2019, presented in Montalcino was scanned by noses and palates without discounts.

Benvenuto Brunello, an event which runs until November 27th, involves 118 Brunello di Montalcino producers faced with the severe judgment of dozens of journalists and sector operators, but the last two days will also be open to wine lovers. Tasting wines of this caliber as a preview can always lead to some hasty judgments, both positive and negative. But the general impression is that the 2019 vintage is discreet and for some labels excellent. Some producers aim for fresh and vibrant wines, others continue to want to rest on strong shoulders, in the style of their own house. Some doubts in both cases concern the management of tannins and the pronounced presence of green notes. There are ready-made wines, but the last word always lies with the time factor.
